Belle leant against the wall in the entrance courtyard with a magazine in her hands. Her fringe was streaming across her eyes much to her distaste and all she could to to help it was to brush it away just to have it fall back in her vision again. You see, the problem with her fringe was that it was too short to tie back, but too long to let loose. It agitated her immensely, but of course she knew the world had bigger problems then her fringe so she did not complain.
“I wish she’d hurry up,” she thought as she looked across the courtyard, she was expecting a friend of hers to show up any moment, but didn’t know that she should have actually expected her to arrive on time. They were both emerindyl’s of course, and as their professor’s had told them, they were both quite capable of being late, more so because they were in the Emerindyl House.
She looked at her wrist watch, her friend was about half an hour late, she huffed indignantly and continued reading her magazine.

"Waiting for meeee?" Bailey crooned as she appeared from nowhere. Her friend, Belle, had her nose in a magazine as usual and looked particularly grumpy. Bailey looked at her own watch and raised her eyebrows. She wasn't nearly as late as she usually was, and quite frankly was rather surprised that Belle hadn't expected it. They were both Emerindyls after all.
"What's doin'?" she asked, not bothering to apoligise for being late. She was quite hungry and hadn't had a chance to get something to eat that morning and so hoped she might persuade her friend to join her in the dining hall. In fact, Bailey had been on her way to that very place when she remembered Belle had asked her to meet in the courtyard.

“Conspiring fourthy’s is what I hear… what could they be conspiring I wonder,” Henry said from where he was swinging, hanging from the immobile mouth of a stone gargoyle high up on the wall behind them. It amazed even him how his voice managed to carry so perfectly audible from where he was to the fourth years standing below him.
“What was that I hear? FOURTH YEARS SNEAKING OUT TO SMOKE IN THE COUNTRY SIDE!” He shouted pouncing down to the ground and pointing at them jumping up and down as he did, “DELINQUENTS! DELINQUENTS IN THE ENTRANCE COURTYARD!”

Bailey spun around when she heard the voice of Henry. Though she couldn't see him at first, it only took her a moment before she thought to look up.
There he was, the tricky little bastard and she cursed under her breath that she couldn't reach the blighter. She shoved her hands in the pockets of her robes, searching for something to throw at him. Coming up with nothing but her wand, she pointed it at him and said clearly, Langlock, effectively sticking Henry's tongue to the roof of his mouth.
Turning, the grabbed Belle's arm and pulled her to a run to avoid any other tricks Henry might have. How convenient that they were headed towards the dining hall..

“Do you think we should have done that?” Belle asked her friend as she rushed along being dragged up the giant sized staircase. She dropped some crumpled up bits of paper and some gobstoppers, which had been sitting in her pockets as they ran but she did not dare turn back to get them.
“Stop!” she shouted finally when they had reached the top of the stairs and ducked out of the sight of the little Imp known only as Henry. She reefed her arm away from her friend looking at her angrily. Running away from thew imp and possibly trouble, fair enough, but pulling her arm out of its socket, she’d hurt her.
“Thank you very much,” she said waspishly as she started rubbing the top of her arms and peeked around the corner to the Imp who still had his tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth, “What was up with that anyway?” she asked looking back at her friend, now deciding it was the imp she was angry with, not her best friend.

"What do you mean? He was going to get us into trouble for something we weren't even doing" Bailey dropped her hand off her friends arm. She hadn't meant to pull so hard but she knew how fast Henry was, and that Belle was not as fast a runner as she was.
She could see the angry and hurt look on her best friends face but chose to ignore it. If Bailey apologised for every time she upset Belle, well, she'd be apologising a lot. She reached over and rubbed her friends shoulder a bit.
"Come on, I'm hungry. We'd better go before Henry realises where we've gone to, or gets someone to undo that jinx." She adjusted her bag on her shoulder and began to walk towards the dining hall.

"Fine, whatever," Belle said as she moved towards the Golden Hall, pushed through the double doors and into the dining Hall.
