Jessica Everard sat, leaning against a wall in a secret passageway. It was near the Ruberagon fireplace, but quite well hidden. She'd only ever seen a glimpse of a couple of people in here in all her years, and even so, this little nook that she had seemed like it was always the same as she left it.
She used this hidden alcove to get away from the others in the Ruberagon house, those blood purists who wanted nothing more than to scoff at Muggles and found pleasure in hexing Saphricorns. Jessica didn't care about blood. No, that wasn't true. She definately would have cared if she weren't Pureblood, and she supposed she didn't associate with those that weren't, but at the same time, she didn't make an issue out of it like some did.
Jessica wanted more than that. She found most Ruberagons to be petty and pathetic. Lucius Sinister in particular. He was so arrogant, acted like he was the Big Bad Wolf. But when it came to the crunch, would Lucius do what was needed to be done in order to protect his views, his thoughts? He was selfish, she gave him that, and it was a quality she admired in him. After all, if you couldn't look after number one, who would respect you?
But there was... The Greater Good. Was it good? Or was it Evil? Who got to decide what was Good and what was Evil? Because the Dark Lady Avada Kedavra was ruthless and full of detiermination, that made her evil? Jessica did not agree. When Avada Kedavra set her mind on something, she stopped at nothing until it was achieved. And Jessica Everard respected and admired that.
It was one thing for someone to threaten, to say they were going to do something. Lucius Sinister struck her as that sort of person. He seemed to be the sort of person who would act only if it was in his best interests, purely out of selfishness. But wasn't there something more? It was people like Romulus Silvia that she aspired to be like. She wasn't sure if he was in with the Guild of Avada, she had heard rumours, but if he was... he wasn't afraid to act on behalf of someone he respected, someone he admired. His leader. It was certainly interesting. Certainly something she aspired to.
She shifted her position. She wasn't sure how long she'd been there, but it was long enough for her toes to have started to go numb. Comfortable now, Jessica didn't have time to continue on her thoughts, before she heard a sound. It looked like someone had found the entrance to the passageway. The sound of footstpes was coming closer to her, closer and closer. Jessica did not make a sound, but merely waited.

“Oh its you,” Lakasha spoke as she saw the girl standing on her own in a room Lakasha had though was never used. She stepped backwards and turned her head to the right so the gash on her jaw line was not visible. She had managed to heel the wound on her neck and had spent a lot of time moving through the secret passages in search for a place she could finish her work without anyone finding her. He run in with Lucius Sinister was to be in complete secrecy and she had managed to cure herself of it, though the wound on her cheek returned as if nothing could heel it. She thought thus was the attack of the Dragon and what made them so mighty. You could challenge a dragon, though dragons were eternal, and a wound from a dragon would last always, and this was where the raw claw of the dragon had scratched her.
She didn’t say anything for a moment and thought that she would turn and walk away, though she knew this could not be something she could display to the Everard girl. She had come to know which of the Everard’s was which after that time she had been fooled in the Golden Hall. Since then she had not been silly enough not to understand them to every tiny detail and so she knew that the one before her was in fact Jessica and not Natalie. She even wondered for a moment if the girl would be foolish enough to try and trick her again.
“I didn’t think anyone would be in here,” she said, allowing a catch in her voice as she spoke. The gash on her face caused more and more pain each time it returned, and each time she was finding it more and more difficult to contain the pain that coursed through her body. She could feel the blood seeping from the wound and made sure to hold that side of her face away from Jessica, though was certain the girl had seen it when Lakasha had first approached. She maintained her stance in the doorway, she was in no mood for a fight, though she could not allow others to think she was growing weak and so she would need to have Jessica leave and not her.
“Do you mind?” she said to her, more as a statement and a warning for her to leave then as a question or – god forbid it – begging her to depart and leave Lakasha to her shame, out of the sight of those who might jeer at her. She was bleeding. She looked like she had been beaten up a bit. Her clothes were a little dishevelled from her frantic search for privacy and her mind betrayed her current anger towards Lucius. Good thing there were no Ameraid’s around.
“I am not currently in the mood for company,” she stated still holding her face to the side. She wasn’t even looking at Jessica and knew this might make it appear that she believed she was too far superior to Jessica to betray her sight to gaze upon her. She maintained this happy at the thought of how it might make the girl react and waited for her to leave.

"Get real," Jessica replied rolling her eyes at Lakasha. It was so ridiculously typical of her. Find a quiet private space where someone else just wants to be alone and try to boot them out. Wasn't there somewhere else Lakasha could go and lick her wounds? And what interesting wounds they were...
Jessica did not quake in fear at Lakasha Shocanis as her twin sister Natalie did. She was not scared of the other girl at all, and actually found her a little pathetic, and rather amusing. She was whipped by Lucius Sinister, that much was apparent. She hadn't heard of a second death in the school, so that only meant that it could have been him that gave her that delightful cut across her face. Jessica smirked.
"Go find somewhere else to sulk Shocanis, I was here first." She had absolutely no intention of moving. She wasn't in the mood for a fight, but if push came to shove that's how it would be. It wasn't a turf war, but her thoughts on the Ruberagon Purists earlier had made her irritated with them, and here came one trying to push her weight around. Well, bugger that, she thought.

“Oh, I assure you, Jessica Everard I am very much so real, more real then you would likely regret knowing,” Lakasha said to her considering whether Jessica might like to see the disfigurement she was now suffering.
Lakasha turned to look at Jessica straight on. She probably had not noticed the first time, but what was wrong with Lakasha was not just the gash on her face. An infection was climbing through her skin like a spider web and her right eye had already turned a toxic yellow colour. The parts of her skin around the gash were starting to turn a grey colour and the immediate area of the cut was red with blood.
A scaly growth was covering the bulk of the right side of her neck and he ear was shrinking into her head in front of Jessica’s very eyes. Lakasha looked at her through this eye. The edge of her mouth was becoming thin lipped and the skin surrounding it was also turning grey in colour. Lakasha needed complete concentration to ward off the infection and she would not let this impudent little fool stand in her way.
“I will not ask you a second time,” she said, looking her in the eyes. She knew that if someone was looking at her – looking as she did now – she would been horrified. She held her look though and thought a threat might be appropriate, “I am highly contagious right now,” she said looking at her and bringing up her right hand. He hand itself was starting to go grey, though it was the right shape except for her fingernails which were curling into tips at the end and were twice the length of those on her left hand.
“I don’t imagine you know how to cure yourself of what I can give you,” she knew it was safe to show this to Jessica. Initially she was worried about it, though now she understood she had no need to be. It was no secret; Lakasha’s knowledge of poisons and their effects. She had been poisoned and she could pass it on if she so desired. She knew this reaction was chemical, and she could beat it, though she did not believe Jessica could.

"Diddums!" Jessica pouted, mocking Lakasha. She stood up, facing the other girl. The two of them were the same height and Jessica was pleased Lakasha could not look down at her. Though she wanted to look Lakasha in the eyes... she found the appearance of the other Ruberagon to be quite nauseating. Her face had become quite repulsive and what was that? Scales?
"Have you been a baaad girl?" She asked raising her eyebrows, smirking, "Did big, bad Lucius punish you?" She asked, emphasising the words. "As much as I hate to say it, I think you almost look better like this. Suits your winning personality." she smiled.
Lakasha irritated her. If Natalie wanted to be 'friends' with the girl, that was her prerogative, but Jessica found her tedious and over dramatic. She couldn't be as hardcore as she tried to seem, after all, she only came second to Lucius Sinister. Third, if Kalika Gardan was around.
It seemed Lakasha was here to hide and lick her wounds. Now that she'd found someone who was supposed to be scared of her, she was trying to throw her weight around. Jessica really didn't have the time or energy to waste on her.
Jessica brushed her always perfect blonde hair from her face and smiled. She was incredibly attractive, and she knew it, quite often using it to her advantage. It felt nice to be standing next to Lakasha while she was looking the way she was. Still, her condition looked pretty repulsive and Jessica preferred her face the way it was. Had Lakasha not had that facial... impediment, Jessica probably would have stuck around to protect her space.
"You're right though. It's so thoughtful of you to look out for others Lakasha," she mocked a shiver "Imagine if everyone looked like that. We'd all be repulsive!"
With that, she threw her arms up in the air and turned to walk away, though tense, as if ready for any sort of retaliation.

Lakasha’s eyes narrowed as she watched the girl before her, suddenly reminded of Elouise Snape, it was pathetic the way these blonde girls were all so alike, Lakasha knew this was why people made fun of blonde’s. It was something in their DNA that made them feel they actually looked good, Lakasha knew that beyond Jessica’s hair there was nothing more then that pointy little witch nose and a lot of make up. Who was pathetic?
She knew this girl thought little of Lakasha being something of a crony of Lucius, though she often found that when people had this sort of reaction it was because they were jealous of Lakasha’s position within the main clique of the Ruberagon house, and rightly so. Being a Ruberagon was all about status, and Jessica had no such status to be heard of.
“I’d rather be punished by Lucius Sinister then to be the leftovers of Romulus Silvia,” she said with a scintillating accentuation of the word left over, “That’s what people are saying about you after all, why even Romulus himself was boasting to his little friends the other night about how accommodating you are, likened to a lapdog, or worse as I understand it, you know, I have seen the inside of Romulus’ bedroom on a couple of occasions in my sixth year, I always wondered how comfortable that bed was, and I hear you’d have experience with such knowledge?”
“You know there is this saying about you now? What goes around gets around,” Lakasha said as she turned away from Jessica though she was not fool enough to think she would get away with calling her a … promiscuous girl. Lakasha didn’t have to pretend the insult had come from her though, she thought Jessica might have heard it plenty of times around the school herself anyway.
“Now if you don’t mind, I am a little busy, can I ignore you some other time?” she said more as a finish to their conversation then as an actual question, though she was sure that Jessica would understand that, even if she didn’t seem to be able to think for herself without Romulus Silvia around.

"Great come back Lakasha. can't think of anything else so you call me a slut. SO original of you. If I was sleeping with Romulus, it would just be an added perk to the whole situation. Have you seen that boy without his shirt? Delicious!" Jessica said with a smile.
She had no more time for Lakasha and her pathetic attention seeking ways. Lakasha had invaded her space and pushed her out of it. She didn't have the energy to fight back and found the whole situation, and the other girl to be petty and boring.
"Catch you later Lakasha. I guess I'll know where to find you... Licking Sinister's shoes, right?" she quipped before turning and dissapearing around the corner. If what Lakasha had said was true, she had a few words to say to Romulus.
((End of thread, so glad people enjoyed reading it. Thanks for the points!))
