“I just have to get away from her, just for a couple of hours,” Godric said to himself as he felt along the corridor that headed into the upper parts of the castle. He knew this was dangerous as the corridor was long and in the direction of the Emerindyl Common, but likewise he knew there was a secret passage here somewhere which would allow him sanctuary long enough to take a break.
He felt along the wall until his fingers felt a buzz in the stonework. A soft humming issued from the wall when he put his ear to it and he found himself pulling out his wand and jabbing the bricks in search of something. He did this to several bricks until at last one of them felt it appropriate to jab back. He smiled, this was what he was looking for.
He ran his wand the length of this particular stone block and watched as the wall in front of him dissolved to show a secret door that could not be seen without first knowing it was there. He had been shown this door when he was in his first year by some older students in the Emerindyl House. As he had managed to keep it a secret since then, he had never stumbled across anyone else using it. Though once or twice he thought he saw a purple cloak ducking around the corners of the corridors within.
He slipped through the door and looked back to see that there was no wall where he had just walked. Though some first years walked past it without fluttering an eyebrow in its direction and he knew it must now appear sealed from the outside. He nodded knowing this was how it worked.
Turning around, he started along the corridor behind him with a slow and doleful expression about him. He was so tired, so very tired and did not know how he had lasted so long today without allowing it to affect him. He walked on a little more leaning on the wall as he did until he came to a round room that branched off from the secret corridor.
In this room was once chair, and one window, which was more a slit in the stone work that looked out over the pools below. He leant against the small windowsill and contemplated jumping out. Merely to stop the headache he had more then anything else. He closed his eyes and listened. He could hear it again, a faint singing, the words he did not know, but the sound was haunting and made his head hurt even more. Maybe if he slept a while.

“And to think we all thought you were the model student,” the rich throaty voice that filled the little room came with a little bit of a sting in it. It was no secret that Aurora Celeste didn’t feel too friendly towards Godric Emerindyl, he stood for everything she simply abhorred. He was the perfect son, the perfect member of a perfect family, and she despised him for it. She knew that one of the other boys, a Saphricorn, joked all the time about Godric being something of a poster boy, and Aurora Celeste was inclined to believe him, a prefect... well she was a prefect so that was no surprise, quidditch captain... well she was also a quidditch captain, so yes, that was also no surprise, but then there was that family, she shuddered to think about it.
“You’re probably even upset to find out that you missed Defence Against the Dark Arts,” her accent was obviously American, not that she felt so; she was, moreover one of the few students in the school that could be understood by all when she spoke. Thanking the goodness of Americanization on the world. She looked at the Emerindyl boy, he was standing, but he had his eyes closed, and he looked somewhat like he was sleeping. She prodded him gently. It was with a shock that she found he was actually sleeping.
She stood back slightly taken by his unconsciousness. She’d never seen a human being sleep while standing before, he must have been very tired. This allowed her a rare opportunity though and she stopped to observe the young man who was about the same age as she. He wasn’t a bad sort when he wasn’t talking, she imagined the two of them could even grow to stand one another if he remained in this state all the time. She smiled at that and then quickly stopped chiding herself within her own mind for having such thoughts.
“To wake or not to wake,” she muttered negligently moving a strand of her fringe away from her face. It was difficult not to want to wake him, in any event the two of them had a class in just five minutes, and she knew she would already be late. But then he looked so peaceful, even though he was standing, she realised as she watched him that she simply could not bring herself to wake him she’d learned a long time ago that if someone could sleep in strange positions, then it was likely that that person needed to be sleeping.
With that she decided to wait. She moved herself to the single chair in the room. She knew now it was her duty to stay and make sure he didn’t suddenly startle himself into awareness and fall over and hurt himself. She would miss class though, that momentarily caused her to grimace dubiously, but then she knew she could always take Allora’s notes later, she wasn’t as good at taking notes as Aurora was, but then she was dependable.

Godric's eyes snapped open at the sound of a chairs leg scraping against the stone floor as someone came to sit upon it. He didn't move at first. He didn't think he could resist the urge to fall if he moved a single muscle. After a moment the haze around his sight cleared though the fog in his head did not. The ache in his head was as ever present as it normally was, though the moment of rest had dulled the pain just a little bit. His fingers twitched as his hands came to life, moving up his side and grasping each of his opposing bicepts. This move was also to bolster his ability to remain upright as his emerald eyes flitted to the sight of the sitting beauty before him.
His mind unclouded instantly.
'What are you doing, Ameraid?' he said, almost spitting the word with an promise of violence. The feeling returned to the rest of his body as instantly as his mind cleared upon looking at the girl. Aurora Celeste. Everything about her made him angry. He didnt even know why; she just did. 'Run out of cauldrons to stir and cackle over,' he said, knowing that she would understand dispite her purely magical upbringing. A lot of students at Koalingo did not know about the muggle stereotype about witches, but Aurora would know. He could always depend on her to be a painfully annoying know-it-all.
He turned away from her and nearly fell over, grabbing onto the window sill akwardly covering up the fact that he did not have the energy to hold himself up unaided. He didnt want her to be here. He didnt want anyone here, but he would almost be willing to have Elouise around if it meant that Aurora would not be around, for some reason despite their differences, Aurora seemed to like being around him even less when Elouise was present.
'What's your deal anyway, sitting there staring at me while I am sleeping, do you get some sick kick out of watching me and you thought this time I wouldnt catch you, you know you could always just take a photo, though I cant be held responsible for any hand gestures that might result from you looking at the photos,' he said to her as scathingly as she felt was possible. Though he knew he didnt do a very good job at it. He didnt feel well at all, and just hoped that she would get angry enough at him to not notice that his heart was not as into it as it should have been.
He refused to look at her.

She had heard his deep breathing stop and froze where she had sat down on the chair. Had she woken him or had he just shifted his breathing patterns? Both were possible answers but neither was obvious at the moment. She probed out with her mind to see if she could touch his. To see if she could find out whether he was awake or not before being caught out. The last thing she wanted was for him to catch her staring at him out of concern or anything else not resembling total dislike. All she managed to find was a solid barrier, as hard to penetrate as Lord Emerindyl himself, and she had tried a couple of times. And he had caught her, doing nothing but smiling at her and winking.
Godric wasn’t nearly as good hearted as his father though and Aurora knew it, so she was wary of the fact that he might catch her and so she did not try to force the connection with his mind.
She started when he said something. She should have known this would be his reaction, her face contorted from calm to upset, and then quickly so he wouldn’t see it straight to anger and dislike. If she hadn’t disliked him so much she might have noticed his first insult was as weak as he looked right now. He back went up straight away however and a hundred responses formulated instantly, ‘Sure have, thought I might come find you and see how your beard was coming along of if you’d found a crooked pointy hat with stars all over it,’ it was the lamest response of them all, what was she doing, surely he would point out her stupidity.
‘Yes Godric,’ she answered scowling more than ever, ‘Like the rest of your pathetic blond little fan club all I live for is to gaze upon your glorious image and dream about the day that your award winning smile would deign to gaze up at me from a photograph,’ she stood at once, the chair she was sitting on spontaneously combusted in her fury, ‘
‘You want to talk about hand gestures!’ she felt the colour rising into her maddened cheeks, ‘Depulso!’ she flicked her wand in a quick gesture and a wave of energy ripped through the air towards him.
