“If you went to school here, ma’am then I would almost have to say you are an Ameraid,” Alex said as he watched the professor, his eyes slipping to Holly every now and then. He couldn’t help it, he knew her for the longest time, but he still could not understand why anyone would want to have short platinum blonde hair. It was quite unsightly.
“I don’t know what else you would be Professor, but if you are an Ameraid, you’d be able to read minds, right?” he didn’t really know what else to say short of sitting in the classroom with his mouth opened and his mind asleep. He had spoken more then any other reason to keep himself awake. It wasn’t that he didn’t enjoy the class, but the topic was fairly dull.

"Miss MacFarlane and Mr Zander, you are both correct. Ten points each to Emerindyl" she smiled, though a little dissapointed that none of the Ameraids, usually renowned for their brains and divination abilities, had answered her question. Perhaps this class was not as interesting as she'd hoped. Time to move it along, she supposed.
"I'm attended Koalingo and was in Ameraid, thus making me a telepath. As Miss MacFarlane pointed out, I am also a Seer. And the third one that I am is a Medium. It is quite a rare combination" she finished.
She didn't have much of a plan for this lesson, it was been set aside for a more of a get to know you, but the students looked bored, and she already knew quite a bit about each of them. She guessed now they knew a bit about her too. She had been going to play a game or two, showing off her skills, but now suddenly felt it wasn't very appropriate.
Lucy glanced at the clock on the back wall and saw they weren't even a quarter of the way through the lesson.
"Alright then, enough of that business. I'm sure all of you, except the first years, know quite a bit about Divination already, though it ishard to gauge as I understand you've had a few different teachers in the last couple of years and it isn't clear what you've learnt."
"One class I'm sure you've all been keeping up to date with is Astronomy, so Astrology should be quite easy, and it's going to be the first subject for the year" Reaching over, Lucy picked up her textbook and thumbed through to the chapter on reading the stars and waved her wand. The following words appeared on the blackboard.
Divination that consists of interpreting the influence of stars and planets on earthly affairs and human destinies. In ancient times it was inseparable from astronomy. It originated in Mesopotamia (c. 3rd millennium BC) and spread to India, but it developed its Western form in Greek civilization during the Hellenistic period. Astrology entered Islamic culture as part of the Greek tradition and was returned to European culture through Arabic learning during the Middle Ages. According to the Greek tradition, the heavens are divided according to the 12 constellations of the zodiac, and the bright stars that rise at intervals cast a spiritual influence over human affairs. Astrology was also important in ancient China, and in imperial times it became standard practice to have a horoscope cast for each newborn child and at all decisive junctures of life. Though the Copernican system shattered the geocentric worldview that astrology requires, interest in astrology has continued into modern times and astrological signs are still widely believed to influence personality.
"Everyone please copy that down so that you remember it. Pair up with the person next to you and compare star signs, and decide just how accurate they are when defining your personalities."

Barnak had been lazily wafting his wand over his notebook, skimming the teacher's writing as the words copied themselves onto the page, but when she spoke again he started, sitting up straight and then sinking as deep into his cushion and the floor as he could possibly manage.
Pair up? There were only a few Ruberagons in the classroom. He was surrounded by smart-arse Ameraids and goody-two-shoes Emerindyls. Pair up? And compare star signs? Was she kidding?
Barnak wondered if it would be possible to sneak out of the classroom without anybody noticing. Either that or turn himself into a cushion until the lesson was over.

Elouise smiled as she listened to the teacher, this was all very fascinating and she wanted to know more about it. She had a quill in her hand and had been scrawling the written words about as soon as they appeared. So by the time the professor delivered her next piece of instruction; Elouise was ready to pair up. She looked at Godric and smiled, it was a given that the two would be partners in this next section of their lesson.
“Ok… so how do we do it?” she asked him as she pulled out a book she had been set for the class. She was just skimming through the pages on Astronomy when she looked up at Godric for some help.
“Where are the descriptions on the star signs, Miss?” she asked when she found she could not find them.

Barnak glanced sideways at the Emerindyl, one eyebrow raised. He wondered why at her age page numbers were such a difficulty for her, or for that matter why she was incapable of using an index. Given that this was divination, he thought to himself, she would be showing more initiative by simply using some of this wafty rubbish they were all going on about and magically just realising where the right page was. He sighed, twirled his wand around his fingers, and wondered how long he could procrastinate.

Andreas chuckled inwardly when he heard the Emerindyl asking an obvious and possibly stupid question. At least he thought it was a stupid question and was pleased when he heard thoughts coming from a Ruberagon about how it would be obvious to use the index, he was liking the Ruberagon’s more and more as the time went by.
“Try the index, perhaps.” He said, thinking the Ruberagon might have enjoyed saying it himself, though Andreas was no less pleased about being able to point it out on his behalf.

Mariana was a little surprised when the Professor asked them to pair up. This happened so few times in Koalingo classes and while she lavished at the thought of joining up with someone to do her work, she became suddenly aware of the fact that there were no other Saphricorn’s in the class.
She knew this was mostly due to the fact that Saphricorn’s; at best; were practical people and that something like divination did not appeal to many, if any of them.
She looked around for a partner and noticed one boy that was trying to look invisible, she thought this might be because he did not think anyone would choose him as a partner, so she smiled, knowing she would be doing him a favour.
“I will partner up with you,” she smiled as she came to rest by Barnak. She had said it loud enough so that the whole class would see and sat down while she started flicking through the pages to find what she needed for the Professor’s question.

Barnak froze, totally stunned, then slowly turned to look at the person who had been offensive enough to sit next to him. He recognised her immediately - she was the one who had annoyed him in another class. He stared without meaning to: nobody in their right mind would sit down next to him, surely, let alone partner him without asking. And a Saphricorn, of all people! Didn't they know he hated them? Couldn't they feel the negative vibes that floated toward them from his very body?
He was in a predicament now. She had spoken loudly, and he was afraid people would notice her sitting there, too close to pretend he hadn't heard or seen her. He had to do something. His first instinct was to hit her over the head with the textbook, which on its own was quite heavy enough to knock a small person to the ground, but sensibility reigned over instinct: after all, a Ruberagon couldn't be seen running away from someone, especially someone of inferior wizarding quality.
He pivoted about on the carpet, holding the cushion in front of himself somewhat defensively, one hand subconsciously checking that his wand was still in his pocket. He cleared his throat, but couldn't think of a single thing to say to weasel out of it. She was even sitting between himself and the door.

Barnak peered over his cushion at the girl's textbook, scanning down the page to find his birthday and its assigned star sign. He snorted at it and then glanced up at her, trying to see which one she was reading...

“My animal totem is a bull,” Elouise said as she scanned the page. She was willing to agree with the rest of it, though she didn’t think there was anything about her that was in the slightest bull like. She didn’t make an issue of it though as she continued to read. She read most of it under her breath so that Godric could hear her and waited to see if there was any of it that he disagreed with, on the whole though she thought it was a fairly accurate description of her personality.
She had a chuckle when she got to the part about her gemstone being the Emerald. Perhaps the date of her birth did have something to do with her being sorted into Emerindyl. On day earlier and her stone would have been a diamond, “I like diamonds…” she muttered to herself without actually realising she had said it out loud.
“I like fruit,” she shrugged as she continued to read through it. She found it very interesting and made a few notes in her book as she read, awaiting the teachers next set of instructions.

"I like humanitarian aid,' Belle muttered to herself as she started going through things. She didnt know if someone had partnered with her, but by going through it she assumed someone would come and sit by her. She looked up after she did this and noticed this was exactly what had happened, a Saphricorn was sitting to her right reading the text book over her shoulder. All in all Belle did not totally disagree with what was down on paper in front of her.
Even the negative traits were things she knew she was, but at the same time, she didnt see a single one of them as being negative, "So what if I am opinionated, I would prefer to have an opinion rather then to follow what everyone else says or does, there is nothing wrong with that at all, I think the only reason people look at personalities with opinions ot be negative is because they dont often agree with people, which causes tension but is not negative,"
She looked up at this point to see who was listening to her, supposing her words did not really have a lot to do with the class, "I agree with it all, but I wouldnt call it negative traits,"

Allora moved across and sat next to Andreas. He might not have been the nicest person in the room, but he appeared to be the only Ameraid and as much as she would not like to think it, or even say it out loud, she had a better chance of getting the work done, and getting it done right while partnering with someone in her own house then she ever would have by pairing with someone in another house. She didnt like stereotypes like this, though she knew a lot of the time their was logic behind them.
She opened her book and began to move her eyes down the page to where she would find the part that was supposed to be about her. 'Dogmatic,' she thought to herself indignantly. While she did not think there was anything wrong with following the rules to the very line, she also didnt think it was her in the slightest. Though she never did set a toe out of line, and she often told of those who would do things that were not considered correct behaviour, but surely she was not dogmatic... what a disgusting word.
