Hey
So by now I'm think most of us have all seen the movie that opened (...in Aus at least...) on the 12th. Even some die hard people have have seen it more than once...
So now it is 12.12am on Monday morning and I have just returned from my first sitting of the new movie. So I'm curious to what everyone thought of the latest installment.
Love it? Hate it? Want to share why you feel that way?
I'm curious to want anyone and everyone has to say and suppose I should go first...
I was disappointed.
Yes, yes, I can already hear the 'what on earth?' that shall be said/though at that declaration. I just felt that in the stature of what has been set by the previous movies and the books that it was very lack luster for what could have been a excellent movie. The ministry scene was barely existent. I mean sure we saw Sirius fall through the veil but where was all the brains? Where was Hermione getting struck down, Harry's breakdown in response to it and Neville's moment to shine? The fighting was all flashy but not of all the important fighting sequences.
Where was the quidditch? Probably with all the other things that were skipped over in the longest book but the shortest movie. The irony kills me.
Not sure if it is just my suspicious Harmonic mind frame but it seemed to be that Ginny seemed to just pop up randomly in the movie, like they would be sitting about and then there would be a zoom with her in it then flick to Harry. Bit early for all that isn't it?
I do have to admit though that I though Luna was exceptionally portrayed in the movie and played very well by the new comer Ivanna Lynch. Emma Watson & Daniel Radcliffe did a great job as per usual of their representations of Harry and Hermione.
And Neville seemed to be starting to step more into his own. There was some very good cinematographic techniques used to depict Harry's journey both physically and emotionally, it did leave me wanting and expecting more which it didn't really deliver the goods in my opinion.
So there is my list of why I did and didn't like the movie. While it is mostly a list of whines, I did like the movie but had higher expectations for what I would see. If you haven't seen it but have read this, don't be disheartened! See it for yourself, most of my friend that have seen it loved it and said it was the best movie in the series so far.
