Evangeline was shaken. That much was obvious. She had barred the library door and made sure any and all other entrances and exits she knew about had been forcibly closed by any and all means that presented themselves to her. She was trembling as she sat on the mattress in the corner of her quarters, which were behind the staffroom of the library. She had the apron she normally wore clenched to her face with her hands, and in her eyes she had tears of fright.
She had been questioned by Arutha ConDoin about the death of the student the night before. She knew Andrea Mark well as he attended the library often, though Finnias Mark had always been a scarce face, and so she had little information to pass on. This did not seem to please the Head Auror in any way and caused his temper to rise against her. Arutha ConDoin scared her, it was that simple.
Her questioning was well and truly over and the Headmaster had given her permission to return to the library, though now she felt herself alone and vulnerable. If someone had managed to get into the school and murder a student, then what could they do to a squib. The answer; anything they wanted. And that scared her more then anything else. She had heard the student was killed by use of the death curse, which meant the murderer had access to magic. She didn’t need to try to fool herself, she had no such defence against these things. She had read the whole library twice over, even with magic little could be done against the death curse.

Post by Prof. Charlotte Mandelstein on May 3, 2007 17:00:18 GMT 10
Professor Mandelstein had been looking for Evangeline for the better part of the morning. She had heard that their squib librarian did not take her questioning very well and Charlotte was a little more then concerned that she might prefer to be alone right now. In times like this, no one needed to be alone and Professor Mandelstein was about to ensure this did not occur.
She had checked the library door a couple of times to find that it was locked. She had taken this as a sign that Evangeline had not returned, though after looking everywhere else it would be possible to find the librarian; Professor Mandelstein returned with a resolute feel about her. She would not allow any petty locks to stop her from entering and ensuring her colleague was safe and well.
She peered through the crack between the library doors and new at once this meant that there was some obstruction on the other side. Knowing a simple unlocking charm would not work, she reached into her pocket for precisely what she needed. She smiled when she found the seed and placed it on the ground underneath the doors. She pointed her wand at it and immediately it sprouted. Vines of emerald green curled out of the seed and under the door into the library.
Charlotte watched the vines as she focused for them to grow under the obstruction. There was a breaking noise and a small crash and the door moved open without a hassle. Charlotte walked in and looked around. “Evangeline?” she called as she stepped behind the serving desk in the doorway of the librarian’s quarters.
