Alex was stomping out to the Quidditch pitch with the moisture of the damp earth squeltching under his boots. He was in full quidditch gear, which was normal as it was the first training session of the year and past team captains had always felt it was morale boosting to train in full uniform. It always drew in the crowds as well and many Emerindyl students were in the stands waiting eagerly to see who was in the team this year. There were some cheers as Alex moved out onto the field. A lot of people were happy to see him back on the team just like the year prior. Especially after that amazing grand final last year when he belt a bludger straight at the seeker on the opposing team, it had collided with him as he was about to catch the snitch! Emerindyl had won that game...
Alex held his arms up embracing the cheers as he moved out onto the field. He knew they would likely do their loop around the quidditch pitch in introduction to their skills for another year. Until the rest of the team arrived though, he entertained himself by standing in the middle of the quidditch pitche holding up his firebolt for all to see how he had managed to make it shine so much it reflected the sun. Not there was any sun out on this dreary winter morning.

Lara couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the Emerindyl boy’s antics as she stood waiting to follow him out after his oh-so-dramatic exit of the Emerindyl locker room. This may have been her first public practice session with the team but she was pumped and determined to show exactly why she was on the team.
‘Show off much, Zander? Two can play that game’ She thought to herself shaking her head with laughter.
As Alex had finished his parading, and Lara finished primping, making sure her uniform was wrinkle free and sitting perfectly. So with her brand new broom hoovering in the air next to her she walked out on to the field, the crowd hollered, whooped and clapped loudly. Not to be out done by Alex Zander of all people, she stopped halfway between the quidditch pitch entrance and where her team mate stood in the centre, her broom stick stopped as she did. Lifting her right arm and placing her hand right behind her ear, and gesturing grandly with her other hand indicating for the applause and noise to increase.
She was not let down as the noise increase three times what it had been and with a quick jaunty salute to the crowd, to which she received a few wolf whistles that caused her cheeks to colour pink slightly, she jogged the rest of the way to where Alex stood waving occasionally to her friends in the stands. Coming to stand next to him, Lara was still beaming a large grin as she raised her hands to her hair and pulled it into a sleek ponytail that hung into the middle of her back.
With a smirk in place, she turned her head slightly still looking out into the stand, but her gaze flickered to the boy next to her for a second as she pulled her leather official quidditch league chaser gloves out of the front of the pants waist band and put them on delicately.
“You ready to put on a show, Zander?” She said, her voice rising slightly to be carried about the noise as she started clapping as the next team member started their trek out of the team change rooms.

Post by Elouise Sullivan on Jun 21, 2007 9:26:27 GMT 10
Elouise was quite prepared and had initially hoped to walk out with linked arms of the Godric Emerindyl; her other half, and the Quidditch Captain of the Emerindyl House. He had told her in private though that this might not be the best idea; explaining that it might cause people to renew their comments of how Elouise only got on the team in the first place because she and Godric had been dating since their third year. They didn’t seem to be bothered by the fact that it was she who had caught the winning snitch after Alex had taken the opposing seeker out of the equation in last year’s grand final.
Elouise hadn’t had any issue with people owing her appointment to this relationship in years, not since her amazing performance last year anyway. She was a little annoyed with his statement to not want to walk out with her in public while the focus was on Quidditch. Likewise though, she was not prepared to argue the matter with him. She had been on eggshells with him so much lately; she didn’t know what she had done. She wasn’t sure she’d done anything to be truthful.
She moved out onto the pitch and the erupting roars that met her ears meant that no one had worried about her relationship in comparison to her position on the team at all. They obviously remember how much of a good seeker she was and so were happy to have her back, she thought she might even make Quidditch Captain next year after Godric graduated.
She moved toward the chaser and beater whom were already on the field. She had not seen Lara perform once yet, though the two had interacted beyond the Quidditch pitch and though she seemed a little materialistic; Elouise was exactly the same, and so they had gotten on well.
“Ready to show them how a championship team practice?” she smiled at the other two as she brought her broomstick down from where it perched on her right shoulder. Her gloves were on owing to the briskness of the winter breeze. She quickly dug into her pocket drawing out a small pouch of powder. She applied some of it subtly and smiled. The powder was an organic mix made by Lady Saphricorn, which would keep her warm regardless of the temperature.

Lara looked at Elouise with a playful pout at the slightly younger girl.
‘You know, me and Alex laid down the ground work and that was the grand entrance you decide to make? I’ve very disappointed in you. I could have organised a few boys to carry you out on a log raft or something. Something fun, something sassy yet classy” Lara said shaking her head and laughing when she finally stopped her little pout session and in a show of friendship she nudged the other girl with her shoulder and grinned.
Totally unaware of the problems Elouise had had with her boyfriend and their quidditch captain and particularly because she was getting bored even thought she was responding to the occasional scream of her name with a wave and grin. She wasn’t even sure how on Earth some of these people knew her name, let alone that she was on the team, she had been helping out a few of the younger students with their flying the other day and had been pulling out some stunts which had cause a gathering of students from mixed houses to watch what she called goofing off, pulling out of dived at last minute, hanging off her broom, making tricky shots look effortless. She really had gone from being unable to hold a quaffle properly to being extremely comfortable.
“Anyone know how our El Captain is going to make his grand entrance? I’m about ready to make some people drool…” She said shooting a grin to Alex and Elouise and rubbing her hands together gleefully as if she was about to open a Christmas present. “Oh and do we get to have a party after this or is that for only after every match we win?”
Being on the quidditch team and talking to a few different people had certainly pulled Lara out of her shell, while she still had her worrying of making a fool over herself, she was only in school once and you only live your life once so she was determined to make the best of it all round.
