Lara Watt was very much a creature of comfort. Not only in her structured days of getting up an extra thirty minutes before anyone else would awake so she could bask in the early morning glow of the rising song, and the morning song of the birds in their praise of another day as she sat on her balcony of her cabin looking over the lake. And then she would run around like a crazy woman to get ready and spend ten minutes straightening her hair to be dead straight when it already was naturally straight.
Lara needed her structure like everyone needed air to survive.
It was on Saturday mornings like these that she would go through her usual routine, early rise, straighten hair, track down her favourite bikini of the moment before heading down to the pools for some swimming and tanning, and more than a little socialising although she usually had a little time to herself since most people went straight to breakfast, well those who were awake at this time which most of the time turned out not to be many students. She also happened to be a social butterfly when the opportunities presented themselves.
Walking into the pool enclosure, Lara picked a chair by the far wall and deposited her shirt and her bag containing her towel, tanning oil, some hair ties and of course a pair of sunglasses. Laying down on the reclining chair and stretching her hands above her head, and arching her back off of the chair, She couldn’t help but smile widely, after the week of sitting on hard stools and benches and listening to the usually monotonous sound of her professors giving some lecture or another fading back into one monotonous backwash of noise, whether it was important or not it all seemed like drivel and so far away from important on this sunny warm Saturday which would be filled with whatever took her fancy. As much as she loved structure, it was nice to have time to do whatever she wanted whenever she wanted.
Feeling like she could purr in contentment of how her say was starting out to such a great start, she had begun to hum without realising it, some tune that had been played on Wizarding World Wireless almost flat out over the summer break. It was quite catchy and by some proclaimed band to ‘be on the watch for’. Lara vaguely remembered their name starting with the letter J or something of the likes, not that she realized she was humming, while listening to a bird off in the distance call, most likely, to its mate in another tree.
Slipping on her sunglasses to protect her eyes, as she looked around from her lounging position, taking in her empty surroundings still smiling widely, quite happy to just watch the day play out in front of her.

People generally had differing beliefs in what constituted a day of leisure. While some usually preferred to sit back relax and watch the world go by, other s preferred to be in the thick of things, Set themselves a list of what they wanted to achieve that day and stick to it at all costs. Lara seemed like one of the people who didn’t mind sitting back and relaxing, but Alex Zander? No, he was one of the latter.
Water exploded from the pool when he jumped over Lara’s chair and performed a very impressive cannon ball manoeuvre into the pool. The water that did exploded towards Lara missed her only by inches, though of course Alex had known this would occur. He liked to cause people to make a little more noise and have a little more fun in their day, but he was not the kind of person who deliberately set out to ruin someone’s day and respected that some people were just boring by nature.
He swam deeply into the crystal clear water as he opened his eyes to see who else was present. He’d mastered the skill of Grindylow transformation in his third year and so by now (the second year that he has been a sixth year) he was quite good at it and able to transform parts of his body to Grindylow rather then the whole lot; this helped immensely when it came to seeing underwater.
Seeing no one he surfaced again keeping only his nose and above beyond the surface. He was smiling and watching Lara, tempting her to join him.

((Make this after THE EVENT, eh?))
Lara having seen a blur over her chair had sat up abruptly in time to see the same blur of cause a huge splash in the pool causing the formerly still surface to break out in large ripples and the water lapping at the edges but never flowing over thanks to a never spill charm. The fact that the person didn’t immediately remerge to the surface pointed out it was obviously an Emerindyl above fifth year being able to use some of the Grindylow abilities without fully transforming into their form, and the amount of splash also pointed to an older, male student being the culprit.
Lara could pretty much already summarise her list to one candidate.
Alex Zander.
Lifting her sunglasses from her nose to her forehead to show her eye green eyes looking expectantly over the pool’s expansive surface knowing that such a entrance by someone, without greeting her verbally or physically meant they wanted her to know they were here and to pay attention to them. She glanced at the ground out the corner noticing how close she had been to getting splashed.
Definitely Alex Zander.
Sure enough a head broke the surface, a very familiar head of hair, forehead and eyes proved her previous idea of exactly who had jumped over her and announced themselves with a splash. And although though she couldn’t see it clearly thought the rippling water, Lara would be willing he would have his usual mischievous grin plastered on his face below the water line. Lara just smirked at him, she could see his smiling eyes still watching her, and deliberately she stretched languidly before laying back down in her previous low inclined position, but still sitting up enough to watch him although her dark sunglasses hid her gaze from him.
“If you’re trying to tempt me Zander, you’ll have to try harder!” Lara said, her voice sounding overly sweet with a sing song quality to it before he let out a giggle, wondering what the boy would do now. He had her attention now; but would have to work to maintain it.
Lara always had fun with Alex was around so she was looking forward to some fun and entertainment, a great way to kick off her weekend.

Alex, though sometimes overbearing; was a polite person. He had no interest in upsetting anyone, which was why he refrained from wetting Lara when he had first arrived, though now she knew that he was there, all bets were off. And after all, she had come to the pool; surely she did not have intentions of staying completely dry, not when she didn’t have to remain so. He continued to grin at her from below the surface and submerged following the accepting nod for the challenge she had now presented him with.
He transformed his feet this time and found that they were now webbed. He kicked against the edge of the pool with all his might, though as he had not countered the top half of his body; instead of kicking water out of the pool had had pushed himself backward. The top half of his body actually came out of the pool, followed but his webbed feet, he soared through the air for a little while before crashing back into the crystalline blue.
And now he felt like an idiot. Though it passed; quickly.
He turned in the water as he landed and transformed entirely. He needed more control in the water and knew he did not want to do the same thing again and accidentally land poolside.
That would hurt.
He turned towards the direction of Lara and swam very quickly, this time he would perform a mid air transformation and he knew he would have to get it spot on or risk hurting himself. His nose navigated his aquamarine body through the depths as his webbed feet and hands propelled him to magnificent speeds. He hooked down and then back up again at the last possible moment and flicked all of his extremities at the same time.
He soared out of the water and towards the bank. He focused on transforming back as quickly as he could and landed with an agile patter onto the poolside nearest Lara.
“Are you challenging me, Watt?” he smirked, knowing that a verbal confirmation would give him all the permission he needed to wet her.

Watching on as Alex seemed to flip, flounder and frolic in the pool, Lara decided the vest way to play this little game that seems to have come between them was to look on his actions with a sense of mild boredom, all the while trying to fight the smirk that was struggling to remain hidden.
At one point she did grimace, the sound of his body hitting the water after his fine show of water acrobatics or, as Lara would probably later tease him, synchronized swimming style. She was thinking of diving straight in to check on him, she knew how much it could hurt when your body collided with the water.
Water was a hard mistress and Lara had learnt her lesson many a time.
Although her impassive demeanour did change into a smirk as she followed his path from water and Grindylow to cement and sixth year Emerindyl student. Raising her hand slightly to cover her mouth as she let out a loud and highly over exaggerated yawn, before smiling sweetly and lifting her glasses up to reveal her eyes, that looked straight into his.
“Well I don’t know if you could handle a challenge from me, but if you think you could handle it then by all means, cowboy” She said, raising a shapely eyebrow, clearly eliminating any questions of whether or not the gauntlet had been thrown down.
Eyeing the dripped wet boy Lara now realised that maybe she had shot her mouth off a bit early considering she was half reclining on her lounge chair and he was easily standing next to and perhaps slightly over her, the potential for her to end up thrown in the pool was indeed great. Thinking of perhaps moving back slightly or standing up and making a dash for other side of the of the pool, she thanked her lucky stars she had removed her shirt and shorts earlier so they would not end up drenched as she had quickly evaluated the ending of this situation.
“I must applaud you although Zander…” At which point she turned her head to completely face him, smirking back at him and with one elegantly shaped eyebrow still raised looking every bit playful as she could. “I did oh so thoroughly enjoy your impersonation of flipper the dolphin…”
Lara laughed a genuine laugh no little giggle not knowing what would happen next or what direction it would go in, only that it was fun to have some fun with one of her friends.

"Yeah but chicks dig dolphins after all," he grinned at her with cheek as he looked at her. The water was running through his blonde hair and onto his face; painting streams of liquid across the tanned surface. He had played a bit and now thought it might be polite to give her a chance to respond. If she didnt... well his attention span was very short and he would likely either get back in the pool or wander off to find someone else to bait.
"I dont understand people who come out here and dont actually get in the water," he smiled as he did a back flip and splashed back beneath the surface of the water again. He was back in human form now so the skin tanned shade, which was him, moved slowly underneath the suface of the shining crystaline waters before he emerged with a burst of air. It was warm, though it was slightly crisp, which meant that summer was at an end and while it was autumn, it would soon be winter and pool times did not exist in winter... unless you were into ice skating.
He looked at her from where he stood in the water not far off. There was more water running across his face and while this was perfectly normal for someone who had just been submerged; it did look somewhat comical.
"So?" he said looking up at her, "Coming in or what?"

“Not all chicks dig dolphins, Zander. Only some.”
There was a definite clip in her tone on the word chicks when she spoke. Women. Fine. Girls. Alright. Chicks just reminded Lara of the animals called chickens. She was nut a small bird covered in feathers. Even though she knew he was trying to be cheeky, she was allowed to have her fun as well wasn’t she?
Standing up in one fluid, elegant movement, Lara never took her eyes off the sixth year boy. She removed her sunglasses in a slow deliberate manner, very aware of how something so simple could cause someone to be anxious as they watched on. Lara was going for just that effect. Taking her time, she put her sunglasses away in her bag before raising her arms about her head and flexing and stretching her muscles with her eyes closed briefly.
Opening her eyes again, and smilingly playfully at him, her eyes looked straight into his eyes, her glinting slightly with a mischievousness that Lara found often reared its head when Alex was around goofing off also.
“After such an eloquent invitation by you, how could I ever not?” She said in a mock swooning nature, she deposited her shorts before diving straight into the deep end of the pool. Deciding to have a bit of her own fun with the boy, she remained underwater where she could see with crystal clear clarity thanks to her Grindylow transforming abilities that came in handy even when in human form. She swam around him a few times, seeming to almost be a blur of tanned skin underneath the water’s surface to an onlooking observer. Deciding to come up for air, she came to a sudden halt in front of him, breaking the still rippling surface she had a smirk plastered on her face as she was treading water about a foot in front of him, watching the water trickle down from his sleeked back with wetness blonde locks, down his face to drop off at his chin or go down further to his chest. She kept her eyes above his lips.
“You know you look dashing in that drowned rat kind of way” She said in a teasing and light way.

Alex knew what she was doing, that much was obvious. She had had her fill of him cheeking about and now she was going to return a little bit of it. Well, let it be said that no girl ever ran rings around Alex Zander, even the really pretty ones. He smirked as she prepared to join him. He couldn’t help but appreciate what a nice day it was all of a sudden. He smiled as she dived into the pool and watched appreciatively at her intricate maneuvers in the water. Any better and he would have been prepared to believe she was a mermaid.
Before she surfaced though he managed to slip his mouth beneath the water enough to gather a mouthful of the crystal clear and perfectly clean water. He emerged enough for this not to be too obvious. And when the girl resurfaced in front of him he smiled just a little bit without making it obvious that his mouth was full of water. This would be just a little juvenile of him, but then she was being just as teasing towards him, so why not. Perhaps it was the grindylow in him.
He let the water go and rather then it shooting like a jet into the girls face it sprayed into the air above them and caused a momentary rainbow to appear while he laughed and turned his head skywards to watch the rainbow before the water came spraying back down upon him. He shrunk beneath the surface and kicked off hard repeating the movements she had presented him with he circled a couple of times before resurfacing behind her.
“You’re not too bad yourself, for a sundried tomato,” he laughed. This was a bit of a jibe against her sun baking, he was not a fan of people purposely burning their skin, but then he never did anything to make sure he didn’t go just a little brown himself.
