Belle moved as best she could through the long grass that whipped at her waist in long strands of green gold. The area around her cabin had not been tended to in a long time and she was beginning to worry about coming near the long grass at all, though for the moment, she had seen no snakes. She had already collected her broomstick from her cabin and was moving back through the cabin closer to the water, admiring, in jealousy, how the grass around these cabins had been suitably trimmed.
Her friend Baily was also going to be joining her on today’s practice, and Belle distinctly remembered her friend suggesting the Quidditch Pitch. Though Belle was sure, as was Bailey no doubt, that the Quidditch Pitch would be overrun on a Saturday.
“Why are we waiting…” Belle sung to herself in a low voice that could be heard by no one else. She rested against the first post of the pier that ran out into the centre of Emerindyl Lake. Her idle thoughts turned to the lake itself as he eyes cast upon them. It was so large, so open, and not a single person in sight. An idea struck her.

Bailey stepped out of her cabin with her broomstick. She also had a Quaffle under her arm and her wand in her pocket. She knew a clever little spell that would allow her to try and catch it if Belle chose to only practice with her bludger. Well, Bailey knew she would need some practice avoiding bludgers too, so that might help.
She had to walk past the pier to get back into the school and movement caught her eye. She couldn't remember if she was meeting Belle at the pitch or waiting for her here. Looking around to her friends cabin, Bailey saw no sign of the other girl. She turned back to the pier and started walking towards it. It was indeed Belle, she realised as she got closer.
"Heeeey" she called, "You ready to go?"

“Um actually,” Belle stuttered as she looked around and realised the scenery here was just as good if not better then the Quidditch pitch, “Why don’t we practice here?” she said to her friend as she looked out across the lake drawing in the fact that they were quite alone and there was so much sky above them now it seemed almost silly to go to the pitch where everyone else was elbow to elbow practicing themselves.
”You can bewitch some hoops to stay in the air cant you? And besides, if I hit you with the bludger you’ll have something pleasant to land in,” she smiled mischievously, she would be trying her hardest to unseat her friend, while knowing she had to make sure she survived long enough to be able to swap sides and try to keep her bludger away from Baileye, “What do you reckon?”
“I think it is worth a go,” she looked at her friend smiling, “And think of all those who wont see us that will be surprised at our amazing talents when we take the field!”

"Okay, sounds good." Bailey responded. It was a good idea, she conceeded. The pitch would be packed with students hoping to get in a bit more practice before having to impress their captains in tryouts.
"It'll be good to get in some dodging practice." she said positively while her cheeks had a pink tinge as she thought of being hit by bludgers. She hated pain, like most people, but the idea was not to get hit by the bludger, wasn't it?
"Alright, here goes" Bailey pulled out some long strands of grass from the ground and knotted them into a circle shape. Dropping it on the ground, she muttered an engorgement spell and then a levitation one. She repeated the process twice more and soon she had three goal hoops floating in the air.
Rather proud of her handiwork, she picked up the Quaffle, mounted her broom and flew into the air.

"Of course it does, dah” Belle responded by climbing onto her broomstick and flying up immediately, leaving her bludge on the pier for a moment. She wanted to get a feeling of the terrain, they were above the lake of course and she knew that with the heaving tides of the water, the air directly above it would also pull and sway.
“Accio!” she chanted brandishing her wand towards the pier and the bludger flew up to her. It was still small for the moment, she had not activated it and this would be the first time in a little while she had set it to full stun. She didn’t know if her friend would appreciate it, but tough love was important when it came to something like Quidditch.
“All right, on your marks, and keep your whits about you because I aim to kill,” this was probably a harsher word then she could have used, but she also knew that by using it she was warning her friend that she would not be going easy on her and that she was quite serious. She raised the bludger, pressed the button on it with the tip of her wand, casting the full activation upon it and then pulled the beaters bat from her waste.
”Look out below!” She shouted and belted the bludger, it streaked through the sky heading straight for Bailey, Belle grinned wondering if her friend would get away from it in time.
((Heads or tails might be a good way of deciding whether she does?))

Bailey had been warming up by throwing the Quaffle up and catching it, simple yes, but a good way of getting ones hands used to the weight of the ball. Her attention was not really on Belle though she had been waiting for her friend to begin.
Just as she threw the ball high into the air, she head the warning from Belle and heard the grunting whistle of a bludger come her way. Gasping, she did a quick barrel roll. The bludger didn't knock her off her broom, luckily, but it had got her arm on the way and she knew she'd have a nasty bruise there later.
Whilst she hadn't been ready for that, she would be next time. Belle was quite ruthless on the Quidditch pitch, but Bailey had practiced with her before and knew the style.
Brushing her hair out of her face, she turned to see the Quaffle falling from the sky and moved quickly to chase after it. Catching it, she zoomed to the makeshift goal hoops and sent the ball soaring through the middle one.
Of course, it wouldn't be this easy on the field, but she enjoyed a quick goal immensely.
Catching the Quaffle again, Bailey turned to watch Belle's progress with the bludger.

Just in time to see the bludger not three feet from her friend face again Belle muttered curses under her breath as this time her aim was quite off, she had gotten over excited t her friends intermittent lapse in concentration and wanted to capitalise on it.
She didn’t like that she had managed to miss by getting over confident, this always happened and she knew she should not let it be so. She flew around her friend reeling her beating arm backwards and belted the bludger with all her might at her friend again, this time it was travelling very very quickly, and the aim was affected by the strength with which she hit it, and before it came in contact with Bailey, it shrunk to its miniscule size and merely poked her in the forehead.
“Probably for the best,” Belle said as she looked at the minute bludger falling to the water where it did not sink but floated weightless in the water, “I don’t imagine you would have appreciated that?” She said with a grin on her face. The trials were coming up soon of course, and the last thing they needed to see happen would be Bailey bailed up in the hospital wing and unable to practice.
”Shall we continue?” she said summoning the bludger, clicking the safety button, it grew to full size once more, and again she belted it towards her friend, but not quite so hard this time.

"You're bloody lucky that damn thing didn't crack my skull. I'm happy to be your moving target but it's kinda hard when I don't have a beater protecting me Belle!" Bailey yelled to her friend. The bludger had hit her in the forehead and luckily had no more weight than a ping pong ball. Still, she hadn't gotten away from the thing, and that irritated her.
Bailey flew away from the bludger, still a little annoyed. She knew Belle had a good aim, and even though there was no other beater protecting her, it still reduced her ego a bit.
She turned sharply and went the other way so as to avoid the bludger. Flying close to the ground, she deposited the Quaffle and decided it would now be bludger avoiding time. Perhaps she would practice her goal shooting later, but if Belle was going to beat bludger after bludger at her, she would concentrate on that instead.

"Well maybe if you were a better flyer you would have gotten out of the way, you cant always rely on the beater to be there Bailey!” Belle had replied with the same fierceness ad was quite suddenly wishing the bludger had not shrunk in size and had in fact collided with her head, “Just because you didn’t get out of the way in time doesn’t mean it is anyone elses fault, suck it up and don’t let it happen again,”
Belle chased after the bludger which had wandered a little of the way up the lake, this was peculiar behaviour for the bludger as it was not designed to wander away from the life forms that it was supposed to be unseating. Though as Belle flew in closer to the bludger which was lowering closer and closer to the water, Belle understood what was happening.
She pulled up and began to laugh all of a sudden; the bludger was chasing a school of fresh water fish across the surface of the lake. She laughed and realised she had never known of such a large school of fish to be in the lake. Looking closer she watch the bludger shooting below the surface and coming up again, a moment later a fish would float to the surface, dead.
“I better stop it,” she said raising down towards the bludger, but it was now going too fast for her to catch.
