Lakasha had been looking for Natalie Everard. She had searched in the commons and had been unsuccessful. And the grounds were full of Saphricorn’s and Emerindyl’s but not a Ruberagon to be found. And so she had settled on searching the Golden Hall.
It was a curious thought to realise that Natalie was not even here. She had searched everywhere she could have thought about which meant that wherever Natalie was, it was not somewhere she ought to be. Lakasha didn’t like that. Lucius already had reservations about her loyalties given that her sister was in with Romulus and she would have to report to him later that she had been unable to find her.
She didn’t feel much like continuing the search, but knew that it was her task to keep Natalie in toe. She was more and more worried and had more reservations about what she should ad should not be telling Lucius about the girl. It was no secret between Lucius and Lakasha that Jessica Everard was not to be trusted. When though would this mistrust extend to the other half of the Everard twins?
Lakasha sat down at the Ruberagon table, though no food or drink appeared. She was more interested in finding Natalie, and wondered how funny it would be if, like food; Lakasha could will the Everard girl to appear before her on the table. Now that would be what Lakasha considered service.

It was interesting, the things you could see when you sat still and watched. Jessica Everard didn't often sit still, but she'd been reading the newspaper over a mug of very strong black coffee when an agitated being caught her eye. She looked up and saw Lakasha Shocanis sit down at the Ruberagon table.
Jessica wondered if perhaps Lakasha was in a bad mood or if her face always looked that contorted. Finishing the rest of her coffee, she folded the newspaper and put it in her book bag, hoping to finish reading about the latest Muggle torturing during the Ancient Runes class that afternoon.
She had been going to go pick something up from the Ruberagon common room but decided there were more interesting things to do, and so she walked down the table towards Lakasha. She had heard a couple of third years talking about Lakasha, and that she'd been on the rampage that morning looking for Jessica's twin Natalie. The opportunity had presented itself to her, and Jessica certainly wasn't going to pass it up.
She ran her fingers through her hair to neaten it a bit and caught a glimpse of herself in the reflection of a window. Yes, she looked rather like Natalie today.
Taking a deep breath, she placed her bag on one of the bench seats and sat down opposite the other Ruberagon girl.
"I heard you were looking for me?" Jessica asked politely. There was no way Lakasha would be able to tell the difference between the two of them, nobody ever could.

Of course Lakasha was looking for her, but who would have known that, she hadn’t mentioned it to anyone, perhaps her whits were not as sharp as they used to be. Had she actually mentioned she was looking for Natalie? She decided she must have, or Natalie would not have known. She promised to berate herself for her carelessness later.
“Looking for you?” she acted as if she did not care, though her disposition changed into something likened to relief as she was now sure she had found Natalie. She did however think it was odd that she didn’t see her when she entered the hall when she had indeed entered it with the sole purpose to find her. That seemed odd, perhaps she needed to get her eyes checked.
“Well I wouldn’t have said I was looking for you, but I will admit I am glad for the company,” she smiled. Natalie was probably the only girl she smiled at these days that did not regret seeing the smile immediately after. Lakasha and Natalie were growing to be quite good friends, as was Lucius Sinister’s wishes.
”So what’s been happening?” she asked her as she decided Lucius would want to know exactly what Natalie was doing, and why Lakasha had had such a hard time trying to find her, “What have you been up to, today?” it didn’t sound intrusive. Even when Lakasha fed the sentence through her mind again and again she realised it was quite a commonly social question and one Natalie would have no issues answering.
‘It’s been such a dull morning,” she faked a bored look, though she was far from being relaxed to the point where she could possibly be bored, “I was even considering reading today’s paper, how boring is that,”

"Oh, you know.. The usual" Jessica said, smiling warmly and choosing not to elaborate. She had no idea what Natalie had been up to. And she wasn't smiling at Lakasha, more at the realisation at just how good friends she and her sister were. Jessica had not realised their relationship has progressed this far. Sure, she had seen the two talking in hushed tones in the common room a couple of times, and her stupid sister tended to follow Lakasha, Lucius and Kalika around like a lost puppy.
It was hard now, to make a decision. Would she act like Natalie and try and find things out from Lakasha? Or would she act the fool and make her sister look like an idiot. She had to be careful, for she knew the older Ruberagon girl was feisty and Jessica had no backup here.
"I don't know, I had a look over it early and there's a good article on the muggle torturing in Melbourne this week. It's... interesting." Jessica wasn't sure where to go with this. Her and Natalie had never been close and so she didn't know the way her sister thought. Was she like her Ruberagon friends, elitist about Pureblood? Or was she more like the... Others in the house, those that stepped to a different time?

Lakasha looked at Natalie and for a moment, she thought there was something odd going on. Things seemed a little off and she thought for a moment that perhaps she should ask Natalie if she was ok. She didn’t though, knowing that this was simply not the way Lakasha Shocanis was; friends or not.
Lakasha looked past Natalie for a moment as she came to consider things about Natalie’s remarks on her morning activities. This was another odd thing; Natalie was no fool to the fact that Lakasha and the others always thought they had a right to all of her knowledge, which included that of her private actions during the day, and this struck her as odd that Natalie did not freely offer the information.
Her brow furrowed as something ticked over in her mind and she found she was not entirely sure she believed Natalie. Lakasha sat there and nodded and laughed a colourful laugh. She knew Natalie had never heard her laugh. She also knew no one else had heard it, but if she was right… it would have the desired affect, “Of course, that is the way things go,”
“I heard about the muggle murders,” she smiled as she thought about it, though she had heard other stories from other sources that perhaps the attacks were launched by Avada and that there was a lot more to it then casual muggle killing. Lakasha had been following the articles avidly, though she had news sources that were not on paper.
“You know… I also heard something about some wizard killings in Melbourne,” Lakasha was of course referring to something that had not been launched in the papers at all. This was purely insider information, they simple had not confirmed that it was an act of Avada, though it was certainly what they believed.
