Welcome to the House of Emerindyl!
Not that I play favourites… being a Headmaster it is not really my place to play favourites, though… this house was named after me, so I guess the other Professors might indulge me just this once. Emerindyl is the best house to be in, no seriously, it is!
Emerindyl House is the House of the brave, the kind hearted, the leaders of tomorrow, those whom will stand up in the face of danger protecting those they care about and the morals they value. By choosing Emerindyl, you are choosing to be the students loyal to their hearts.
The Emerindyl House Colour is Green, the jewel of the House is the Emerald, and then animal with which we associate ourselves is the Grindylow. Why? Well let’s just say in your third year you will develop some… interesting powers.
The Emerindyl House is situated in the North Wing of Koalingo Manor. It is neither above nor below the Manor but somewhere in the middle on the very edge of it. Following the corridor to the left in the Entrance Hall at the top of the Giant Sized Staircase; the Emerindyl House Common is hidden behind a suit of armour.
Shaking the suits hand and whispering the password allows you into a small gap, which will appear in the wall. By moving through this gap you will soon find a very short, yet very dark stone hallway, which comes out behind a curtain of hanging grass.
The Emerindyl Common, not unlike its fellow Common areas, is a lot more then a dormitory and a common room. It is a valley surrounded by forest and mountains. In the centre of the Valley is a vast lake. This is Emerindyl Lake; this lake is surrounded by small timber cabins, which are the homes of the students of Emerindyl House.
Each student has his or her own cabin. Each cabin consists of two rooms, a lounge with two armchairs and a fireplace; a kitchenette with attached dining and a Bathroom. First Year students share a cabin where as older students, while permitted to share, generally have their own.
The is a Lakehouse Common area attached to a pier which reaches a goodly distance out onto the Lake. But be aware, the Lake is infested with Grindylows, and sometimes they might want payment to allow you to share their lake….
