Post by Lord Rubeus Ruberagon I on Apr 25, 2007 12:24:32 GMT 10
((This class has to do with the main plot. Anyone who wants some sort of insight into whats happening, and might wish to participate should be involved in this class. Otherwise I would at least suggest people read it))
It had been some time since Professor Ruberagon had taught a subject. He still would not have even bothered except that he had had words with his colleagues and had been reminded that they were in a school and his own studies weren’t the only ones that were important.
Begrudgingly he had accepted the position as History of Magic Professor while the normal professor was away on long service leave. Lord Ruberagon could have argued that he was entitled to ‘Longer Service Leave’ though he knew that if he really didn’t want to teach, they would not be able to make him so it didn’t matter anyway.
He also understood that with recent happenings it might be time for him to step in and have a more hands on approach in the school perhaps his appearance around the place might deter certain people from having certain wicked thoughts.
His classroom was dark and the candlelight that echoed silently through the darkness gave the room a feeling of solitude, just the way he liked it. He knew he could pretend now for the bulk of his class that he was actually back in his own office, though knew it would be difficult when the room was full of students. He had decided today they would discuss something that was a lot closer to home then his students might have knew before now.
He enjoyed discussing Koalingo’s history with his students, from the time the school opened through to its current days and fantastic reputation which Rubeus Ruberagon himself had a hand in. It was as if he was able to gloat in the context of teaching, and that suited him just fine.
The classroom was set out for thirty as always it was. It was more of an ordinary looking classroom perhaps then any other in the school, as the vast majority of what they learned was theory rather then practical.
He stood back and watched over the classroom with a meagre interest. The warning bell for the start of class was about to sound. He waited and heard it. Then he sat behind his desk and started writing notes on parchment of things he could not forget to discuss while he waited for everyone to arrive.

Post by Jack Russell on Apr 25, 2007 12:33:28 GMT 10
At the sound of the bell, Jack Russell, whom had been waiting just outside the door since the middle of lunch break, had moved off the wall he was leaning on and turned to the classroom doorway. He noticed that the classroom was now open and was surprised, as he had not heard the door make way for the students whom should now be making their way through it. He had noticed though that he was not the only student who had been waiting for class. He had noticed more and more of late that people chose not to move through the castle on their own and rarely ever did he see someone who was not exactly where they should be, exactly when they should be there.
He walked towards the door and peered inside tentatively. It had been a week since the news of the Ameraid boy’s death and Jack held the composure of someone who might be frightened to be the first into a classroom, though merely because this was the way everyone else reacted. He decided this must now have a lot to do with habit more then anything else. He didn’t think anyone would actually have been afraid to enter a class first if they hadn’t seen other students doing it.
Moving into the classroom he noticed at once that it was a lot darker then normal. He though this was odd as a lot of their work was theory and contained a lot of reading and writing. Jack didn’t think he would find it appealing to his eyes to be reading in such light, though he also knew he could write in it perfectly fine. Perhaps the teacher was going to be perfectly verbal this day. He knew though if that was the case, then they would all need to be able to trust the Professor knew what they were talking about.
His eyes fell on the shaded figure behind the professor’s desk and he nodded without saying a word. This made a lot of sense now, why else would the classroom be so dark. There were no projectors around, which meant the class would only reflect the mind of the teacher presenting to them today. He walked to his desk and sat at it. He knew by now that when it came to a Ruberagon professor, that he should do nothing further until he was given instructions. Until then he would simply wait.

((Thank You to everyone who is going to be a part of this thread, though I would appreciate that anyone who does not have an integral part to the thread please keep their post lengths to a minimum of two or three paragraphs. There will be a lot to read in this thread and a lot to take in, so if all your character is doing is entering the room, or listening to what is being said, then please, keep your posts short. If your character is going to actively take part of the class, by asking questions or discussing the topic at hand, then your posts are permitted to be longer, but take care in what you say and how much you say. This thread is for everyone, the information in it is also for everyone, and we dont need to fill up pages with mindless filling, as a lot of it will be qute important. I also urge everyone to NOT attempt sde plots in this thread, the main focus is on what the plot point characters will be discussing, so please do not take the focus off of that. Thank You))

Post by Belle Carter on Apr 25, 2007 12:41:22 GMT 10
Belle entered the classroom seeing that the door was open. She was eager to find out why everyone was so anxious to go to History of Magic today and found out what it was right away. Professor Ruberagon was teaching the class. This would be an interesting change, as she had never spoken to him directly. In fact she had even seen him very few time in the Golden Hall, so seeing him here was an interesting experience for her.
She took her seat somewhere in the middle of the classroom while she waited for instructions. She had seen that the first year in her own house had not done anything or made any moves for his bag and so she thought she should do the same thing. She sat back and looked at the front of the classroom in silence, thinking this seemed a lot like being in an exam situation where you could do nothing but wait in silence and wonder what you would be faced with today.

Alex walked into the classroom and looked around, he could only see a couple of other people in the room, though was happy to see that they were mostly Emerindyl. Or at least he thought they were. He moved across to where he normally sat in the classroom though knew this was an odd sensation to see the class in darkness. He almost felt like he wasn’t in a classroom he had ever been before.
When he sat he watched the door to see when the other guys in his group would arrive, wondering when they might see fit to join him. He had not seen them at break and was curious as to why.

Post by Audrey James on Apr 25, 2007 13:02:08 GMT 10
Though Audrey and Jack were always very close, Audrey had been careful that week not to draw any attention to herself. She had barely used magic at all, knowing that traces of it were all over a particular site and she did not want anybody to make the connection. She was very careful to play the part of an innocent and naive eleven year old first year. She had been gathering as much information on what the Aurors thought as she could, but there was only so much that people would tell a first year, though gossip was always interesting at a school.
Audrey walked into the classroom, her bag of books over her shoulder. To any person in the class, she hoped she looked completely normal. Yes, nobody suspected a thing. She looked to the two Emerindyls already in the classroom. One was a fourth year that she'd not had anything to do with before, and the other was Jack. The choice was easy.
Though she smiled at Belle, she made her way over to the seat next to Jack and sat down, pulling her books out after she did.
It was only then that she noticed Lord Rubeus Ruberagon the First, sitting at the desk at the front of the class, for the room was so dark. It was interesting, she had met the man before, although not yet, and in the thirty or so years until then, he had not seemed to age a day. Peculiar.
Audrey did not say anything, merely looked over to Jack and smiled, before settling into her chair to wait for the classroom to fill up.

Post by Lucius Sinister on Apr 25, 2007 13:04:22 GMT 10
Lucius had been waiting outside the classroom with the other Ruberagon’s. He had known Lord Ruberagon would be taking this lesson and was in no way interesting in annoying his house head by being late. Tardiness was a sin in a school, he had always been told this and the words would stick like glue to his mind from here until the end of his education.
He moved into the classroom and sought out his usual chair at the back corner of the classroom. Here he welcomed the intense darkness that shrouded his seat, He could see there was a candle stuck to the edge of his desk and thought this might be there to assist him with writing if there was any; and there was sure to be.
He sat down and sat his bag to the right hand side of him waiting for the other Ruberagon students to follow. He imagined this might be quite a full class, as the word had spread through the house that Lord Ruberagon would be teaching it today, and a lot of them were always talking about how much their house head would know in his many years of wisdom, and even more of them were eager to have him impart some of that knowledge onto them.

Post by Elouise Sullivan on Apr 25, 2007 13:12:22 GMT 10
Elouise walked into the History of Magic classroom pleased that the class consisted mainly of Emerindyl’s. She knew that others would probably join them soon enough and smiled when she saw Alex was already sitting down waiting for them all. She had thought that of all the houses the Emerindyl’s would be the last to arrive, and was pleased to see that for once they were not.
Not that there is ever anything wrong with that.
She came to sat near Alex, one seat to his right and smiled at him by way of greeting. She wanted to ask him if he had seen Godric as she had not seen him all day, though thought that perhaps there were better times for such questions. Especially not in front of the Ruberagon Head teacher. She smiled and looked around to see who else would be joining them. She knew Godric took this subject and hoped he would be along soon.

Holly walked in behind Elouise. She was in a quiet mood and so hadn't caught up with the girl to chat before class. Still, she was happy to sit near her. She sat on the other side of Alex, knowing that the seat next to Elouise would be reserved for Godric.
She was interested to see how this class would go, she didn't know much about the school and had never really paid much attention in this class. However, Lord Ruberagon was to be teaching it, and so it was bound to be interesting. Holly settled in for a little learning.

Post by Lachlan Hollingworth on Apr 25, 2007 13:31:07 GMT 10
Lachlan had come along the corridor in the opposite direction, and so had ended up in the class just after Holly. The two of them had not spoken since the night of the murder, and importantly, the night when he confessed his feelings to her, and so things were a ltitle awkward between the two of them. It was always odd when people from other houses sat with people not in their own house, but unfortunately, there were no other Ameraids here yet. He decided to sit on the side of the classroom that was quite bare and wait to be joined by another Ameraid. Surely there'd be more than just him..

Post by Mariana Torrenne on Apr 25, 2007 14:27:49 GMT 10
Mariana walked into the classroom a little anxious. Not because she had heard anything about Lord Ruberagon teaching the staff but because things seemed so real these days and yet so fake. She could not quite put her finger on it, but she felt as if she knew more then she knew she did. She had not been able to recall the events of Saturday night and had wondered on it long and difficult while she pieced together what had happened to her.
The result was a confusing one. No matter how much she thought about it, she was never able to acquaint her actions past returning to the Saphricorn Common to feed the horses before someone caught her for forgetting to do it. The more she tried to recall the memories of the night, the more she found that it just ended up hurting her. On one individual occasion she thought she remembered being in the Entrance Courtyard. Though she had been quite suddenly attacked by a brain splitting migraine that she had not tempted fate soon after.
She entered the classroom and saw that she was the first Saphricorn present. This did not surprise her all that much as many of the Saphricorn’s stuck together in groups these days. And she had not seen any of them since break. She hadn’t spent any time with them, which was a contradiction to her character, even she would agree with that. But whenever she did spend time with them, she had the sudden impulse to be away from them; though this only occurred if any of them tried to ask her about Saturday evening.
She made her way to her seat in silence. She had been eager to get seated, as she had not spent this much time with this many people for a week. She had spent most of her time running away from anyone that had asked of Saturday night and she didn’t know why. She spent much of her time in the past week with the animals on Saphricorn farm. They did not speak of the happenings of the previous weekend, and so it was much easier to be around them. To them, nothing in the world was wrong.
She looked up at the door and then back to her bag as she rested it on the table in front of her. The general consensus appeared to be that no one was getting their things out until they had been told to do so, and so she would follow the herd, as it were.

Post by Rubin Henessey on Apr 26, 2007 8:17:08 GMT 10
Rubin walked into the classroom not far behind Lachlan. He liked History of Magic because it was thoroughly theory. This was not to say that Rubin did not enjoy practical Magiic, as he certainly did. He was quite talented at it in fact and liked to demonstrate his capabilities whenever the occassion called for it, but in these circumstances he found that he was able to do what he did best; not worry about wand movements of spell pronunciation, but sit at a desk with a quill and his ledger and take notes.
This is exactly what he had in mind as he took his seat not far from Lachlan, peeling open the peice of parchment he had prepared for this class and inspecting it for damaged before preparing his ink well and quill to take notes. If the professor was going to be saying anything, Rubin didnt want to miss a word. Even if he was the only one with his things out.

Post by Allora Thunder on Apr 26, 2007 23:22:51 GMT 10
Allora moved into the classroom with fotfalls quieter then a mouse. She had heard and seen first hand what it was to draw attention to yourself in a class run by a Ruberagon, and while she knew this was Ruberagon seniour and also not the Defence Against the Dark Arts and so she decided she should know the bulk of it would be theoretical. All the same though it was prudent to be on ones guard, which was why she folllowed Rubin into the classroom and sat next to him without getting anything out and waiting for instructions from the Professor.
She looked around and noticed they had quite a full class. She liked the full classes, expecially when everyone participated, it gave her the point of view from many different people, which was eye opening and a key to knowledge and a perception she might not have thought or seen had it not been for the different way people look at life.

Post by Godric Emerindyl on Apr 27, 2007 9:54:27 GMT 10
Godric walked into the classroom with his bag over one shoulder. He had odne history of magic since his first year and was going to major in the study of history after he graduated and so it made sense that he would have chosen it as an elective for seventh grade. He moved into the classroom and noticed the Professor at the desk was none other then Lord Ruberagon. This did not surprise him a lot though and he was not sure why. As far as he knew no one had told him to expect to find him here.
Godric made his way to Elouise and Alex and came to sit in the chair next them both. He sat his bag on his desk hesitating when he noticed there were very few people with things on their desks. He wasn’t sure if the instruction had already been given not to get anything out of their bags?

Post by Tye Coleman on Apr 27, 2007 9:59:32 GMT 10
Tye entered the classroom with a dreary look planted on his face. He didn’t have much interest in attending History of Magic as the week had already been so dull and dreary and he knew that a History lesson would do nothing to improve the atmosphere at all. After all, everyone they would be talking about would now be dead. There was a refreshing though, death. Perhaps someone didn’t think this through.
Likewise though Tye attended the class because he wanted to try to get back into the swing of things. He was surprised at the amount of people in the class when he arrived as a lot of students had used stress as an excuse to get out of class lately. Tye had even done it a couple of times, though not wanting to be around those who would bring you down was more then enough reason not to come to class, and a lot of Ameraid’s, while in deep depression, still attended every class.
Tye moved through the class and smiled at Mariana before coming to sit in the desk next to her. He noticed there were not many other Saphricorn’s present and wondered if this was due to them being on ‘stress leave’.
