Bartholomew gained the middle of the duelling arena when everyone had finally assembled. This would be the first duel for the evening, “Welcome one and all to this, the first annual duelling competition of Blood Lust Night Club, we hope you all find entertainment in these evenings proceedings,” Bartholomew said, holding his wand to his mouth as it amplified his voice across the arena and into the stands.
“This arena will be magically protected throughout all of tonights duels, and will stop any rogue hexes from escaping and harming onlookers,” he said as he tossed a disarming charm at the crowd. At once a wall rose from the line around the arena and caught it. He smiled and looked around to make sure everyone who should be here was here.
“And so, without further ado, please welcome the first duel of the evening, Miss Lakasha Shocanis, a Ruberagon student from the school, in her seventh year,” he shouted to the cheers of many Ruberagon supporters. He knew he could expect the audience to get rowdy when it came to Ruberagon students being involved. Fortunately there was a Ruberagon student in each of the nights duels, which mean we could expect some audience imput.
“And on the other end, as fiery as a seventh year, though not there just yet, the british pure blood of Australian proportions,” he grinned wondering if anyone might understand his innuendo, “Miss Elouise Snape, a sixth year from the house of Emerindyl,” he did not expect as much noise as he got at this point. Though it was a little more subdued then Lakasha’s introduction, it was enough.
“The rules of the duel are as follows,” he said looking around and seeing all the crowds faces fall, obviously shocked that there would be any rules at all, “There are no rules,” he finished and the crowd roared, “Though,” he added and everyone fell silent, “As you are students… I suppose we should add that Ministry appointed illegal curses are not allowed,” there was much booing from the crowd, though Bartholomew knew they couldn’t have expected more. Didn’t stop a couple of people from getting up and walking out though.
“Toss of the coin ladies?” he said looking from one to the other, heads or tails? Who goes first”
((ALL COMPETITORS READ: Basically this is how the entire duel will play out, you will each say heads or tails at the end of each of your posts, if your choice is made your spell will hit your opponent, if not, it will miss them, or they will block it, when you play the block, the miss, or the hit, you will then play your return. So to get started, heads or tails? And we will decide who goes first))

Lakasha was a little annoyed at being the first duel of the night, this usually meant they just wanted to get this duel out of the way. Lakasha looked at the speaker with disdain as he introduced them. She didn’t care what he had to say, she didn’t like the fact that she had been put up against a sixth year, though she didn’t mind the opportunity to take out an Emerindyl. Especially this one. She had seen her about here and there, and was interested in seeing what it was Godric saw in her.
Lakasha was wearing leather tonight. And she was proud to show that it didn’t exactly cover her up much. It was brown leather, not black, black was tacky. And about all the outfit consisted off was a short skirt and a breast straps, and even they were only there for propriety and to keep them in. Her black hair was tied upon her head with no loose strands, and he deep grey eyes looked out at the duelling arena with interest.
Her fingernails had been freshly dipped, and the tips of them were green with poison. She knew the rules of the duel were that there were no rules, and if Elouise was fool enough to allow her to get close enough she would utilise whatever she had at her disposal. Lakasha was not fool enough to think her opponent a fool. She would bring her best to every aspect of the duel.
She stood when her name was called and her knee high boots, which matched her outfit perfectly, made a tapping noise on the floor as she crossed. They were quite strong, and did not hinder her movements at all even though the arches on them were fairly high. She wondered if Elouise was wearing something ridiculous, she expected it, though was prepared either way.
She also appreciated the cheers coming from the crowd as she came to stop in position on the duelling arena. What would she used first, what hex would she utilise on this prissy little Emerindyl. Something to humiliate her perhaps? Well if she was going to have a duel, she might as well make it fun at the same time.
“You did say no rules, right?” she said to the speaker with a smirk on her face. She didn’t expect him to answer her, but wanted to ensure that he was aware of what he told them all.

Elouise was very serious as she walked out into position on the duelling arena. She was prepared for the duel that lay ahead of her and she was in no way underestimating her opponent or under-trained for this moment. She smiled at Lakasha when she looked at her across the arena. She didn’t actually know a lot about the girl except that she was one of Lucius Sinister’s lackeys and that meant that perhaps she was quite a nice girl only no one saw it because whenever they looked at her, all they could see was Lucius, and so few people liked him.
Elouise was dressed in very fine duelling robes of green and gold wth a high collar to support her neck, though soft enough to get out of her way if it needed to. She tapped her shoulders with her wand and threads of silk tie came loose and the sleeves came off to where she dropped them wrapped them up and placed them in her pocket. She inspected her wand while she waited. Smiled at her opponent and then to the crowd.
The duel was about to begin.

Elouise nodded when Bartholomew told them there were no rules. She was ready to begin and was a little more then disconcerted by the fact that Lakasha seemed pleased there were not rules. She raised her eyes to the girl and bowed to her without taking her eyes off her at all.
’Focus Elouise, focus, remember what you’ve been taught and nothing will go wrong, nothing,’ she lifted her head and her hand had gripped her wand at once. She slashed upwards, downward left and then right as she shouted her first curse, “Petrificus Totalus!’ she chanted and a stream of light appeared on each of the four slashes she had made in the air in front of her.
Using her wand she seemed to whip at the image she had made in the air and a net like substance flew at her opponent. Elouise did not have time to breath while she watched it fly through the air so quickly that if she blinked she would most certinaly miss the affect from taking place.

Lakasha had not hesitated; she had allowed Elouise to have the first shot just to see what kind of spells Elouise felt appropriate for the duel. It interested her to see a full body bind, especially one performed in this sense. She knew the hex itself could have been performed a much simpler way with the same outcome so straight away she understood that Elouise was over thinking and over performing the duel. It was this that made her attack slow, and Lakasha nearly laughed as she raised her wand like a shield.
“Protego! she chanted and a shield appeared like a bubble around her. The body bind landed upon the shield and wrapped around it like a net. Lakasha thought she could easily push it off, though was surprised to see that the shield shimmered and shrank a little.
Lakasha gritted her teeth and pushed her wand forward focusing on nothing but her shield charm. For a moment she felt as if she might not be able to hold it back, though as she persevered it showed that this would not be the case.
“Come on!” she shouted, though no one beyond the bubble would have heard it. She poked the side of her shield with her wand, straining with all her might. Elouise’s full body bind was very strong, but would likely have cost her a lot of energy, “No!” Lakasha shouted as she pushed against it.
The shield shimmered one more time, but this time when it was reinforced it was the net of the full body bind that fell apart, slithering to the floor like broken thread it shimmered and disappeared. Lakasha wasted no time. She withdrew her wand and as soon as her shield disappeared she stabbed the air “INCENDIO! she shouted and the end of her wand exploded as fire gushed from the end of it.
She moved her wand in rapid circles at Elouise. This caused the fire to fly at her in spirals. This might make her pretty little duelling suit not so pretty….
“Smokin…” she grinned.

Elouise was not very happy when she saw that he curse did not make contact with Lakasha, and for a simple shield charm to be able to bounce it back; Elouise was more then a little disheartened with herself. Though this was folly as wen Lakasha replied with her counter move; Elouise was ill prepared. She was watching Lakasha hold back the full body bind, and offering it continued energy while Lakasha pushed against it. Elouise was also straining but the strain itself came to be too much. Just when Elouise thought Lakasha might cave and give in, Elouise could no longer sustain it herself.
She let her wand arm fall and saw the full body bind flit away onto the ground where it became nothing and Elouise knew she had just expended a great deal of energy on something that amounted to absolutely nothing. Thinking on this and moping about the minor loss she had overreacted and did not notice that Lakasha had reacted to her.
She screamed and put her hands up in front of her face diving sideways from the fire that flew at her. It caught her robes and they began melting onto her skin, which caused her a great deal more pain. She sprayed water from the end of her wand to stop the silk from burning her and watched a large hole form on the back of her leg. She scowled angrily at Lakasha; these were her favourite set of duelling robes. Now she was in for it.
“Pullus!” Elouise shouted and everything in the arena went black. There was no light, Elouise could not see, but neither could Lakasha, ‘[/I]Occulus Noctus[/I]’ Elouise chanted non-verbally and tapped each eye. She could now see as she moved through the duelling arena. She was within a foot from Lakasha and this time she would show Lakasha how the muggles did it. She brought her fist up, aimed for her nose and punched hard.

Lakasha was a creature of the night and so it was preposterous that Elouise could have thought for a moment that she could simply make everything go dark then sneak up to Lakasha and hit her. Lakasha waited for the last possible moment and reached up to grab Elouise’s fist as it nearly hit her. She was quite prepared for this as hand to hand combat was something Lakasha could not be matched in. She grabbed Elouise’s hand and flipped her up into the air before throwing her at the ground where she knew Elouise would feel pain. The very pain she attempted to inflict on Lakasha.
She laughed and moved to the other side of the duelling arena, “Finite!” she shouted waving her wand and the darkness dissipated showing her standing on the side of the arena Elouise would normal be on, and revealing Elouise in a crumpled position on the floor. She laughed a hollow laugh and was pleased to hear the crowd join in.
“Don’t take it personally drama queen,” she smiled and looked at Elouise while she considered her next move. She was still smiling when she brought her hand up with her wand clasped in it tightly. She pointed the wand at Elouise, she knew the girl must be wearing a lot of make up just like anyone else who seemed as vain about their appearance as Elouise did.
“Auguamenti!” she chanted pointing her wand at Elouise. A great gushing sound filled the arena as water burst from the end of her wand. It was quite highly pressured water and would no doubt hit Elouise in the face with a force stronger then the failed punch she had attempted. She would mess up that pretty little face and show everyone just how ugly the Emerindyl really was. She knew it wasn’t her responsibility to put girls like this in their place. But then neither was it a difficult task.

Elouise thought transforming into a Grindylow might be a great way to combat the water flying at her, but she was wrong, and what a mistake it was to have made. When she transformed the water hit a larger mass of her body then it would have if she had retained her human appearance. With this when the jet collided with her she was lifted from the ground and slammed hard into the arena barrier.
She screamed as the water jetted at her with renewed vigour now that she was not moving with it. It was burning at her Grindylow skin and she looked down to see that was because it was peeling her scales off. She cried as the water turned from clear to red as the power of it was cutting into her skin and drawing blood. She could not bring her arm forward because she was pinned. All she could do was wait for it to end and cry about it.
Or was that all she could do?
She tried to inch sideways but it did not work. And then she remembered, she was able to get up to vast speeds while in this form and swimming in Emerindyl Lake. That must mean the skin on her Grindylow head was capable of a lot more pressure, surely that was it, but how to do it? She had to do something soon, Lakasha didn’t look as if she was interested in stopping any time soon.
She shouted with anguish and pain as she pushed her head forward into the jet. It washed of the side of her and was absolutely painless, likened to her possibly having a shower in the morning before class. The pain in her chest however was immense and even now she was bleeding.
She kicked against the wall as she swam up the jet with a speed equal to that of the water’s propulsion against her. When she got to the end of the jet she bounded out of it and brought her foot up to scratch a great cut across Lakasha’s face.
This was not her attack though, merely a reminder that Elouise was no weakling.
When she landed behind Lakasha she nearly fell over, the pain was immense; she gripped her wand to fight back, but fell back against the wall and dropped her wand. She was in so much pain, she did not know if she could carry on.
She tried to breath; she tried to catch her breath, but could feel the warmness of her blood running down her legs. She could not maintain the transformation. She glowed a light green as she transformed back into herself. The cuts on her normal body did not exist. She was instantly healed, but the pain remained.
“I can’t do this,” she said to herself as she leaned back against the wall behind Lakasha. This was not what she thought she had signed up for. Lakasha was beating her, but the duel had just begun. She could not give in. Not yet.
Though, as she tried, she found that she could not raise her wand. The pain in her chest was too much, and the corners of her eyes were beginning to fog over. “I cant do this,” she said to herself and tears begun down her face while she laid against the wall. Surely Lakasha had noticed her by now and was already prepared for any attack Elouise could perform against her.
She lifted her wand in a trembling hand. She was in so much pain that someone could merely touch her right now and she would fall apart. “Stop it!” she shouted at herself and her eyes burst open with renewed anger, “What the hell are you?” she shouted at herself. This was not her, this would never be her.
She rolled sideways and came out of her sitting position in a catlike crouch that was performed with the ease of someone with no ailments. While the pain remained, her mind would be elsewhere, and the pain would be non-existent.
“You’ll regret that,” she glowered at Lakasha and raised her wand, “You wanna play with liquid?”
“RELASHIO!” She shouted and her wand sprayed forth with a burning steam, hopefully making contact with Lakasha, Elouise did not know how much longer she could survive without a boost to her morale.

((Romulus is to play being hit by the curse? My name is Lakasha….))
Lakasha withdrew her jet of water as she noticed Elouise was no longer behind it. The splashes of blood decorated the walls of the arena very nicely and Lakasha suddenly realised the perfect wallpaper for a nursery whenever if ever she decided to have children. There was something attractive about the marking blood left on a black wall that captivated Lakasha’s attention for the moment. Suddenly she found herself day dreaming of days of old, days before she was shackled down by the confine of Sinister’s law.
She shook her head and stopped thinking of such things. She knew Lucius could perform legilimency on her whenever he pleased. And did not want to alert him to the fact tat lately she had been questioning her own loyalty to his cause. She didn’t appreciate being treated like a fool. She was a world class assassin and had been trained by the greatest of the great, and now what was she but a petty thug to a stuffed shirted snob and his little blonde girly. She twisted her mouth with the distaste that filled it as she thought of how Kalika Gardan dismissed her only days prior.
She would hone in on that hatred and use it on Elouise.
She turned with a glared in her eyes as she decided this anger and hatred could be focused rather then pushed down for later thought. She could see Elouise had transformed back into a human being and that she was gravely ruined. Lakasha smiled, this was what she was used to. All she needed now was for Elouise to begin begging for her life, which would make the vision complete. To have the Emerindyl version of Kalika Gardan begging for mercy at her feet.
“I am glad for this opportunity Kalika,” Lakasha said, not realising that she had n fact used the wrong name. The two girls looked something alike which made the mistake easier, and the illusion fell before her eyes that this was not Elouise Snape at all, but Kalika Gardan, “At last you get what is coming to you and not a moment to soon, before this night is out, you will be in your place,” she licked her teeth with the words she spoke, like tasting poison, a poison that brought of pure sinful delight.
She looked down upon the wrecked figure and grinned at it as she watched and waited for what she was about to do. The girl looked as if she was so close to actually giving in, that would be so appropriate. She would torment her before the end thought and had her wand gripped tightly as she looked upon this wrecked girl with something close to glee in her eyes. The pitiful failings of the human body would be the undoing of the universe.
Well her universe.
“You will fail in this attempt against me,” she said as she started weaving her wand through the air. Images appeared before her of Elouise’s face shrieking in pain. They were projections of what had just occurred with a slightly more sinister twist on them. She had attached new pains, and new injuries where there currently were none. Lakasha gazed upon these images as if they were her children and looked from them to Elouise with a glint of malice in her eyes.
“Care to resume?” she had asked. Though stupidly she was caught unawares. The curse from Elouise had been so sudden that when it struck her in the face, she recoiled like a snake bitten by its own kind. She stumbled backwards as the pain shot up her face and singed her eyes sending her blind on one side. She actually fell over; her clothing clinked against the ground as it was made with platinum attachments.
She hissed as she looked up at Elouise with one eye. Her damaged eye had gone completely white and a red streak spread across her face and bubbled in anguish. Lakasha could have cried the pain was so intense. But she did not. She spun around as all assassins did. And tried to curse Elouise but found her aim was off. Her curse was green in colour and missed the Emerindyl by a mile. The field around the arena shimmered and she hoped that no one recognised it as the killing curse.
She stopped. Looked at Elouise with one eye and gathered her thoughts, she could not be stupid. She was on public display and there would be plenty of witnesses if she had succeeded in idiocy.
She looked at Elouise and smiled.
“Oppugno!” Lakasha chanted and many small fragments of the ground shifted from the places and fired at Elouise in rapid sensation like bullets. Lakasha grinned as she did this, and held back a wicked laugh.
