Lucius watched everything unfold before him with meagre interest. He had no care for the arguments of girls or whatever their motivation might be so he had scarcely heard a word passed between Lakasha or Kalika, and by the end of it all, he was somewhat bored, “I tire of this,” he muttered as he sat back and rubbed the centre of his forehead with the flat of his fingers, “It is the same thing day in day out, you just cannot find decent help without paying for it, and sometimes when you pay for it, its not good enough,”
He had of course been speaking of Lakasha. She had been in his employ for some time and stayed on under the guise of a student. She was in fact the same age as them, but had schooled differently elsewhere and so had found a dual reason for staying on. Lucius liked having her there ready at hand when her talents were relied upon though lately he had found her skill to be dwindling, and was a little concerned. “Blood lust is holding a duel on Saturday,” he said to her remembering a leaflet he had read in the Ruberagon lounge that morning, “I signed up, it should be interesting,” he said knowing that duelling was one of the noblest of gentlemen’s sports.
“There is a female tournament also,” he said without actually suggesting something, more just letting her know, “Lakasha is competing, I thought it might be of some entertainment factor,” He said taking a drink from his goblet before putting it down again, “Might also sharpen her awareness to her… skills,”
He hadn’t said anything to Kalika about Lakasha’s assignment. He didn’t feel the need to. Though he knew that Kalika’s dislike for the Everard girl might come to be something of a hurdle in the achievement of success, “And you might want to lay off that Everard girl,” he said without offering a reason as to why she might want to do this, the mere fact that he mentioned it should definitely be enough for her, “We don’t want to burn bridge we might wish to cross,”
